Greenwood is expected to cut ties with United this summer, having been exiled by the Red Devils after off-the-field issues. The England forward is now looking for a new club and had been linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund, however, that has now been put on the back burner by Die Schwarzgelben.

As per a report by HITC, Atletico Madrid have now emerged as a potential destination for the 22-year-old and the Rojiblancos are looking to start talks with the player and United in case they do not terminate his contract this summer.

As per the report, while Greenwood has interest from other clubs as well, he would prefer to stay in Spain as he liked the country during his loan spell at Getafe. He was named the club's Player of the Season.
