ToggleWHAT HAPPENED?
Earlier in the season, Berlin named the 32-year-old as their assistant first-team coach. With Nenad Bjelica out due to suspension, she took the helm of Die Eisernen for their match against Darmstadt. Eta led her team to a 1-0 victory thanks to a goal from Benedict Hollerbach shortly after the hour mark. She also completed all her media duties in the absence of Bjelica.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
After pushing Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane in the face on Wednesday during a 1-0 loss to the defending champions, Bjelica received a three-game suspension. The Croatian was sent off for what the German Football Association considered "unsporting behaviour." Eta took over as manager of the team for the first time after Bjelica received a ban for the incident.

The game also saw a very good cameo for USMNT star Brenden Aaronson who played the last 15 minutes of the game and impressed immediately almost setting up Kevin Behrens for the second goal. The American is currently on loan to the German side from Leeds United.

WHAT NEXT FOR UNION BERLIN?
Eta will likely be in charge of at least two more games following Bjelica's ban. Her next two games in charge for Die Eisernen will be against RB Leipzig and Mainz as she will look to raise the club further away from the relegation zone.
